What changes on 9 December

Your site won't switch off on 10 December. It will keep working as it did the day before. What changes is everything around it:

  • No more security fixes. From that date, the Drupal Security Team stops publishing security releases for Drupal 10. A fix for a new vulnerability would be an exception, not something you can plan on.
  • Drupal 12 is not a shortcut. It is released the same week, but a Drupal 10 site cannot move to it directly. The way forward goes through Drupal 11.
  • The add-ons your site relies on move on. The community-built modules most Drupal sites use for things like forms, SEO and media drop Drupal 10 support over time. New features and fixes arrive for Drupal 11 only.
  • Compliance gets harder. Security audits and frameworks such as ISO 27001 generally expect software to be supported and patched. An unsupported CMS is a finding you will have to explain.

More than 215,000 sites were still on Drupal 10 at the end of September 2026. If yours is one of them, the upgrade is well understood and can be planned.

What the upgrade includes

An upgrade is not a rebuild. Your content, design and features stay as they are; the work happens underneath, so your site is back on a supported version and ready for what comes next.

  • Your site on Drupal 11. Drupal itself moves to the current Drupal 11 release, which receives security updates.
  • Your features carried over. The modules your site depends on move to their Drupal 11 versions, and the code and theme built specifically for your site are updated wherever Drupal 11 requires it.
  • A more secure site. We harden the security of the upgraded site.
  • Hosting checked in advance. We review your hosting against Drupal 11's requirements, including PHP 8.3 or later (the language Drupal runs on), so there are no surprises at launch.
  • No risk to your live site. All the work is done and tested on a copy of your site. The live site is not touched until you have given your acceptance.
  • A safe launch. Go-live with a backup and a way back.
  • Support after launch. Two weeks of support after go-live to address any exceptional bugs or issues identified, and onboarding to our Run plan, which keeps the site updated from then on.

Two packages, so you know the cost before you start

Upgrade Small

€6,000–9,000

For an up-to-date Drupal 10 site with little custom code.

Upgrade Medium

€12,000–20,000

For a site with custom modules, a custom theme, integrations, several languages or a separate front end.

Is your site on Drupal 7, 8 or 9, or larger than this? Marzee can help you move it to Drupal 11 too, with a custom quote after a consultation.

How it works

  1. Audit. You give us read access to your site's code. We check everything your site relies on, and your hosting, against Drupal 11. You get a short report with the cost of the upgrade and a delivery date, so there are no surprises later.
  2. Upgrade. We carry out the work on a copy of your site.
  3. Your acceptance. You review the upgraded copy of your site and give your approval before anything goes live.
  4. Go-live. We launch with a backup, check the live site, and stay available for two weeks to address any exceptional bugs or issues identified after go-live.

Questions

Can we wait for Drupal 12?

Not on Drupal 10. Drupal 12 arrives the week Drupal 10 support ends, and there is no direct path between them. Moving to Drupal 11 now is also the first step towards Drupal 12.

Will the site look or work differently?

No. An upgrade keeps your design, content and features as they are.

How long does it take?

It depends on the site. The audit gives you a delivery date before you commit to anything.

What if we cannot finish before 9 December?

We tell you so at the audit, and give you a date and the steps that reduce your risk in the weeks between.

Is our site on Drupal 10?

Tell us the address and we will tell you.

Start with the audit

Tell us your site's address. Within one working day, we share a first assessment based on what is visible from the outside: the Drupal version your site reports and what the upgrade typically involves for a site like yours. The audit then gives you the price and a delivery date.
